Three fields are devoted exclusively to astronomers during this weekend but a strict 'no lights' policy is enforced on these fields over the whole week (from the previous Monday).
Because of Covid restrictions there will be no organised events this year. Please consider any risk to yourself and others if attending.
All visitors are expected to obey Covid government guidelines in force at the time of the Sky Camp. This may include travel restrictions at your home location or restrictions imposed on the North Norfolk coast.
Socially distance at 2 metres, or take additional steps to prevent transmission if closer than 2 m is unavoidable.
Do not congregate in groups of more than 6, inside or outside.
Groups should not mingle or swap members.
Do not share eyepieces or telescopes.
Wash or sanitise your hands frequently.
Wear a mask in the Centre (unless medically exempt).
There are no talks, raffle or telescope tour this year, so it is unlikely that Kelling Heath will welcome day visitors. Car movements cannot take place on the observing field after dark, so parking must be some distance away.
Kelling Heath offer a special reduced rate for Sky Camp campers. Tell them you are attending Sky Camp for the reduced rate and a pitch on one of the fields dedicated to astronomy. Kelling Heath also have lodges and mobile homes. These are located a little way from the observing field and are suitable for family groups.
For those who wish to extend their observing beyond the main weekend, Kelling Heath offer pitches on the observing fields over an extended period as listed above. Again do remember to tell them you are attending Sky Camp. Please be aware, the strict no-lights rule is enforced for the whole week.
